12 pitted dates
12 fried, Spanish almonds
12 t. chevre
Fresh cracked black pepper
6 slices smoked bacon, partially cooked, sliced in half
Marsala wine, reduced until syrupy (optional)
Slice open dates. Fill each with an almond, 1 tsp chevre and pepper. Wrap in ½ slice of bacon – thread each packet on a wooden skewer (3 per skewer). Grill or broil until crispy. Serve with a drizzle of marsala.
